This sweet family recently welcomed their baby girl, joining an older daughter and son, and it was such a joy to document this new season of life for them.

These photos were taken across two locations: a studio session at the Beverly Harris House in McKinney, Texas, and a lifestyle newborn session in their home nursery in Murphy, Texas. Combining both allowed us to capture timeless portraits and personal, story-driven images.

We began with an hour-long newborn session at the Beverly Harris House in McKinney, Texas, a beautiful studio space known for its soft light and classic feel. Studio sessions are wonderful for clean, timeless images and family portraits with minimal distractions.

With a family of five — parents, a daughter, a son, and a brand-new baby girl — an hour can move quickly. Between sibling photos, parent-and-baby moments, and baby-only images, studio time fills up fast. Starting in the studio allowed us to focus on:

After the studio session, I went back to the family’s home in Murphy, Texas for their same-day reveal session. This gave us the opportunity to slow things down, view their images together, and capture a few additional moments in their baby girl’s nursery.

Photographing newborns at home adds such a personal layer to a session. The nursery was beautifully styled and full of meaning, making it the perfect backdrop for lifestyle newborn photos. These images felt warm, intimate, and deeply connected to their everyday life.
